Homeless Man Rewarded for Returning Stolen Wallet

A homeless man is being rewarded for a good deed after he returned a wallet he found in the trash. The wallet belonged to a woman who was staying at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.

Joel Hartman was looking through a garbage can when he found the wallet with the woman’s ID and credit cards. According to police, her purse had been stolen. He located the hotel she was staying at and returned the wallet to the front desk. Hartman said he saw it as an opportunity to do the right thing.

The staff was able to identify Hartman through security footage. The hotel has provided him with a room throughout Thanksgiving where he’ll be fed, given new clothes and $500 dollars.
